Iranian film ‘And The Sky Was Created’ to vie in Serbia

Iranian short flick ‘And The Sky Was Created’ has been selected to compete at the 30th International Festival of Ethnological Film in Serbia.

Directed by Darya Majlesi, the film depicts the enigmatic relationship between nature and human thorough centuries.

The spirit of the relationship has changed from a very respectful and dreadful approach to a damaging and ignorant one.

Therefore, the film observes the process by both images of nature and the human socio-cultural legacies.

Established in 1992, the International Festival of Ethnological Film presents films that centers on traditional and modern lifestyle of man.

Based on the festival’s website, “Its mission is to foster research and creative approaches to ethnographic documentaries, to educate public on diverse local cultural traditions, as well as to raise voice addressing problems of the modern society, which often neglects the values of cultural heritage”.

The 2021 edition of the event will be held on October 4-8.
